Stolen Vehicle Found

Dear Residents,

We are writing to provide an update following a report of a vehicle stolen from Church Street, Eccleshall overnight on 25th February 2026.

We can confirm that the vehicle has now been successfully recovered by Staffordshire Police. Enquiries are ongoing, and we would like to thank residents for their vigilance and cooperation.

Crime Prevention Advice – Keyless Entry Vehicles

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind residents about protecting vehicles fitted with keyless entry systems. These vehicles are increasingly targeted by offenders using relay theft techniques.

To reduce the risk of theft, we strongly recommend:

Using a Faraday pouch or Faraday box to store car keys when not in use, including spare keys

Keeping keys away from doors, windows, and letterboxes

Locking vehicles manually where possible and double-checking they are secure

Parking in a garage or well-lit area if available

Considering additional security such as steering wheel locks or tracking devices

Faraday bags work by blocking the radio signal from your key fob, preventing criminals from intercepting it and unlocking your vehicle remotely.

If you notice suspicious behaviour or have information relating to vehicle crime in your area, please report it via 101 or via the Staffordshire Police online website (non-emergency). In an emergency, always call 999.
